چکیده

Soil organic matter (SOM), along with the rock weathering, originating from residues of animals, plants and microorganisms involved in soil formation evolution. The stability SOM could directly produce an effect on carbon sequestration. To elucidate characteristics karst areas at molecular structure level, this study, humic acids (HA), as major proxy SOM, were extracted, purified, ultra-filtrated. HA calcareous fractionated into five size fractions, while yellow separated eight fractions. Via analysis potentiometric titration, FTIR, CPMAS 13C NMR, results showed some common features, whereby compared bigger smaller fractions have much lower contents aliphatic carbon, but higher aromatic carboxyl groups, ketonic phenolic hydroxyl total acidity, which indicates that are more soluble well degradable than ones. It was distinct that, soil, negative correlations between acidic functional groups’ oxygen found, suggesting mainly located group carbohydrates instead groups rings, confirming carbohydrate subunits. According to analysis, comparing we presumed polar degradable. However had a larger as, content same layer suggests conservation mechanism is not only resistance also chemical protection forming complexes calcium or/and physical enclosing by hypergene CaCO3 precipitation.

Soil organic matter as sole indicator of soil degradation.

Soil organic matter (SOM) is known to play vital roles in the maintenance and improvement of many soil properties and processes. These roles, which largely influence soil functions, are a pool of specific contributions of different components of SOM. The soil functions, in turn, normally define the level of soil degradation, viewed as quantifiable temporal changes in a soil that impairs its qua...

Soil Organic Matter: Its Fractionation and Role in Soil Structure

An understanding of the form and function of SOM in soil is essential to sustainable crop production. Various methods of SOM fractionation are used to study SOM forms and to gain an understanding of interaction between SOM and aggregate formation. Physical SOM fractionation techniques are based on the concept that SOM associated with particles of various sizes. differs in structure and function...

Sustainable Agriculture, Soil Health, and Soil Organic Matter

The latter two principles protect the soil resource on which all food and fibre production ultimately depends. However, agricultural production systems differ from ‘natural’ or undeveloped systems in that they can be considered to be ‘leaky’ with respect to nutrients. This is inevitable, due to nutrient removal in harvested product, but inappropriate fertiliser management can exacerbate the ‘le...

Soil organic carbon dynamics jointly controlled by climate, carbon inputs, soil properties and soil carbon fractions.

Soil organic carbon (SOC) dynamics are regulated by the complex interplay of climatic, edaphic and biotic conditions. However, the interrelation of SOC and these drivers and their potential connection networks are rarely assessed quantitatively. Using observations of SOC dynamics with detailed soil properties from 90 field trials at 28 sites under different agroecosystems across the Australian ...
